Trance music is electronic dance music generally with an uptempo, faster beat than standard Techno. Also the emotions tend to cover grander or more epic feelings trying to create an uplifting or euphoric energy. The fast-paced 4/4 beat driven by electronic bass and snare also contributes to this effect. Trance was born out of the dance experimentation in Europe in the mid 1990s and has continued to grow in popularity. Major artists, including Rhianna, are now putting out Trance-influenced songs and the style has split into several sub-genres including Euro (Epic) Trance, Goa (Psychedelic, Psy) trance, Hard Trance, and Progressive Trance.
