Movement 2 from the Clock Symphony Symphony No. 101 in D major (H 1/101) by Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809). This movement got gave the symphony the clock association because of the ticking effect created by the movement's tempo various elements of the orchestra. This is familiar, light and relaxed movement which creates a cheerful, optimistic mood.
