Allegro, Mvt 1 from Symphony No. 6 in F major (Op. 68) by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). First published in 1808. Named the Pastoral Symphony, it is an attempt by Beethoven to transfer nature or country life into musical form. This first movement, with its folksy, rustic melody, shows off Beethoven's conception beautifully.
