Franz Joseph Haydn

haydn-classical-stock-music.jpg(Franz) Joseph Haydn  (1732-1809) was a prominent and prolific composer of the Classical period. He was instrumental in the development of chamber music such as the piano trio and his contributions to musical form have earned him the epithets "Father of the Symphony" and "Father of the String Quartet".

Haydn spent much of his career as a court musician for the wealthy Esterházy family at their remote estate. Until the later part of his life, this isolated him from other composers and trends in music so that he was, as he put it, "forced to become original". At the time of his death, aged 77, he was one of the most celebrated composers in Europe. He became a friend of Mozart and a teacher of Beethoven.

Our classical production music recordings of Haydn's music are mainly chamber and solo instrument pieces.  Included are several Grand duo pour deux guitares which are written as guitar duets.  These are somewhat rare and UniqueTracks is proud to be able to license these wonderful performances.  The Cassatio for 4 French Horns & String Orchestra is an engaging work for French Horn section and string orchestra.  It sounds like music you'd hear at court during a ball or festival.  As soundtrack it immediately sets the era of the late 1700s into the 1800s.

Also listen to the Variations in F Minor as performed by pianist Magdalena Müllerperth.  At over 12 minutes this works well as an extended soundtrack of even as a beautiful and refined music-on-hold program.

The UniqueTracks Stock Music Library is able to license these recordings for many different media uses.  You can configure your license right here on this website by choosing your usage type from the drop-down box when you click the "License/Buy this Track" link.
