| Add to Wish List

Mozart's Requiem Mass is a proven soundtrack choice having appeared as underscore in dozens of films. The most popular movements are the Dies Irae, the Lacrimosa, the Domine Jesu, the Sanctus and Agnus Dei.
The work is written for soprano, alto, tenor and bass soloists, full choir and full orchestra. The forces are large and grand musical textures, as only Mozart could write them, are evident throughout.

Composed in 1791, the Requiem Mass was Mozart's last work. It fact, he never truly finished it. The Requiem, as it is performed today, includes several parts that were composed by Mozart's friend, Franz S¸ssmayr. There is much debate among scholars as to how much and what parts of the Requiem were composed by Mozart and what parts are by Sussmayr. Still, the Requiem Mass stands as one of Mozart's most-loved and most performed works.
