Composed by Franz Shubert, (1797 - 1828) this is possibly the most famous Ave Maria set to music. This piece is performed mainly during Christmas celebrations. You will undoubtedly recognize the melody. The only other contender as far as fame, would be the Gounod/Bach Ave Maria.
