Gioacchino Rossini

Gioachino Antonio Rossini was an Italian composer who wrote 39 operas as well as sacred music, chamber music, songs, and some instrumental and piano pieces.  Until his retirement in 1829, Rossini had been the most popular opera composer in history.  A tendency for inspired, song-like melodies is evident throughout his scores, which led to the nickname "The Italian Mozart".

His best-known operas include the Italian comedies Il barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville) and La Cenerentola, and the French-language epics Moïse et Pharaon and Guillaume Tell.

These are premium production music recordings of the high-spirited music of Gioachino Rossini (1792-1868). They will create an exuberant, uplifting mood as soundtrack in your projects.  The violin arrangement of Largo al factotum from Rossini's opera the Barber of Seville is one of our most licensed tracks.

Of special note is a beautiful performance of Rossini's Stabat Mater scored for four vocal soloists, mixed chorus, and orchestra. Stabat Mater is a religious work based on the 13th-century Catholic hymn to Mary.
