Edvard Grieg

Edvard Hagerup Grieg (1843-1907) was a Norwegian composer and pianist. He is widely considered one of the leading Romantic era composers, and his music is part of the standard classical repertoire worldwide. His use and development of Norwegian folk music in his own compositions put the music of Norway in the international spectrum, as well as helping to develop a national identity, much as Jean Sibelius and Antonín Dvořák did in Finland and Bohemia, respectively.

UniqueTracks has classical stock music selections from Grieg's charming Peer Gynt Suite.  As production music soundtrack, these tracks will contribute a cheerful and light mood to your project.

The playwright Henrik Ibsen asked Grieg to compose incidental music for his play Peer Gynt. Grieg composed a score that plays approximately ninety minutes. Grieg extracted two suites of four pieces each from the incidental music which became very popular as concert music.

The music of these suites, especially Morning Mood starting the first suite, In the Hall of the Mountain King, Solveig's Song and the string lament Anitra's Dance later reappeared in numerous arrangements, soundtracks, etc.

The UniqueTracks Stock Music Library is able to license these recordings for many different media uses.  You can configure your license right here on this website by choosing your usage type from the drop-down box when you click the "License/Buy this Track" link.
