Cue Sheet Information

A Cue Sheet is a printed listing of music and sound cues used within the course of a broadcast production. Each cue references the composer and publisher of the music cue along with the amount of time the track plays within the production.

Here is an example of a sample cue sheet already filled out showing composer/publisher information as well as usages and cue time lengths. The Usage column uses the Abbreviations Key to specify whether the cue was a Background Instrumental (BI), Theme Opening (TO), Background Vocal (BV), etc.

*Total Music Length is the sum of all cues listed on the cue sheet.
Cue #5 "Joyful Noise" shows how to list two composers with 2 different publishers. In this instance, the two composers co-composed this 1 song, they each were affiliated with a different publisher.

Writer's share must always equal 100%, but can be divided between multiple composers (as in Cue #5), each having a share of the whole. The same holds true with the Publishing share, it must add up to 100%.
