Mvt 1, New World Symphony by Anton Dvorak
Movement 1, Symphony No. 9, in E Minor From the New World (Op. 95) by Anton Dvorak (1841-1904). This is Dvorak's most famous work and still remains one of the most performed symphonies in the world. Dvorak's New World Symphony came out of his experience in America from 1892-1895. In fact the first performance of the symphony was at Carnegie Hall by the New York Philharmonic in 1893.

It is often performed on its own as a showpiece at Pops concerts or in compilations of orchestral hits. The lyrical melody is beautiful and evokes the rural, pastoral quality of nineteenth-century America. It is said that Dvorak based the melody on African-American spirituals.
